If you walk around Dirleton Castle which is in the care of Historic Environment Scotland then you cannot miss this tree. It is a Thuja tree that has kept low as if it feared being targetted from the battlements. The tree is magnificent and I adore spending time with it when I can.
One tree, one bough, one form from which to create the Wishing Well of Well Wishing. Two photographic creations vegetatively stretching out from too near to far distant and on towards unseen stations. Here the original and there the reflection. The division between one tree and another tree in the plant fashion of fertility is much different to our forms of family. To some there is Venus and Mars as the tell tale lights amongst the stars. There is fluid Mercury and impotent Saturn, chaste Luna and transformational Jupiter with too radiant to deny Sol. If your Sun shone on Eden then maybe you would let illuminate the following?
Such was that happy garden-state,
While man there walk’d without a mate;
After a place so pure and sweet,
What other help could yet be meet!
BY ANDREW MARVELL
Quite a lot could be wanting with ‘man there walking without a mate’ including the continuation of the great garden project as opposed to soil tilling, maybe one was the birth right and the other a punishment? There again it could be that alone time Adam featuring in a single incarnation could suit some solitary souls. It might be that separate planets with Venus and Mars oft being touted as spiritual homes for the duelling dual genders could have been another way for creation to unfold? Maybe Earth in that version could be a meet and greet zone? No time to think of Adam world all Adam and no Eve. There is no time to conjure some scenarios as the rib cannot be put back, there is no need of CSI to produce evidence for rib rebuttal. Let trees grow and human walk there ways past them, in the passing markers along the way it is great to record the patterns they reveal if you have time to pause and to enjoy what they openly conceal.
