Payam Tavan and Mike Mitto have been designing together since 1995. It is in Montreal that each made a solid base technically and in Europe where they perfected their knowledge.
With a Master’s Degree from Domus Academy in Milan, Payam Tavan also worked with head stylist at Gianfranco Ferré, while Mike Mitto choose Paris at La Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture to extend his studies and was recruited by Chanel for several seasons.
The Duo started catering to an elite private clientele with made-to-measure services. Quickly the orders became so, that the ready to wear was available in spring 2001.
In deed, the Tavan & Mitto garment is known for their impeccable attention to detail and precision in cuts. Femininity, elegance and sensuality are their motto where structuré (structured) and flou (draping) meet to create their unique and distinguished applied art.
Each full collection is conceived for the modern demands. For casual and formal wear, the fabrics and timeless designs are unanimously acclaimed by the press, peers and ever growing clientele.
Though much of the industry has moved their production off-shore, Tavan & Mitto is proud to entirely produce in Montreal and by so, to keep their know-how and economy true to its city.
