Charley: *lowers her hand slightly, then shrugs and thumps Caid again, even harder than before*
Caid: *howls* “OW! Damn! I said I was sorry!”
Charley: “But you didn’t mean it! That crap you just pulled is never fine, but it’s tolerable in a bar or at the club. It’s not tolerable here! Call me a prig or whatever, but I don’t like being publicly humiliated, you jerk!” *begins walking off in a huff towards the kitchen, toting a greasy takeout bag with her*
Caid (earnestly): “Hey! Chuck! *turning in his seat* Charley! Charley Sweeney! Come back.”
Charley: *stops in her tracks, but doesn’t turn around*
Caid (plaintively): “Please.”
Charley: *heaves a sigh, backs up* “Yes?”
Caid: *tentatively touches Charley’s arm* “I’m sorry, okay? I didn’t realize it was upsetting you so much. I won’t do it again.”
Charley: “Of course you’ll do it again.”
Caid: “Only in the pre-approved dumbass zones of your choosing.”
Charley: *mulls over Caid’s apology, sensing its sincerity, and nods slowly* “Okay.”
Caid: “I’m forgiven?”
Charley: “Yeah.”
Caid: *grins* “Good. Then could you bring me a beer when you come back from the kitchen, li’l lady?”
Charley: “Get bent.” *walks off*
Candy: *hurries after Charley* “I’ll help you with the food.”
Charley: “Thanks. We didn’t get any drinks, since we figured…” *voice fades as the girls enter the kitchen*
Dane: *takes a seat on the arm of the sofa and sends Caid a filthy look*
Caid: *sighs* “You’re all lathered up, too, I assume.”
Dane: “I don’t like it—”
Caid: “—when I upset Chuck. I know, I know. I said I was sorry, and I meant it. Let it go or let it ruin your night. Your choice…” *holds his clenched fist out to Dane*
Dane: *rolls eyes exasperatedly, then commences a complicated fist bump with Caid*
Danny: “Now that we’re all one happy family again, what in the hell is on your shirt, Grey?”
Dane: *looks down at the graphic on his tee, face clearly pleased* “Noticed the new shirt, did you? Chuck gave it to me. *puffs out his chest* Nice, yeah?”
